Covers that really, REALLY suck

That was from Andrew Denton's TV show. At the end of the show he'd get some most unlikely artist (or politician) to do Stairway to Heaven. Rolf's was great. Check out Leonard Teale's one. Done in poetry style. :D 'And it makes me wonder' ... you can tell it REALLY does. Funny stuff.

You've got a better memory than me. I remember it being funny on Denton's show, done as a joke, but I'm stuffed if I know who thought it was a good idea to release the songs as an album. A whole album with different versions of one song? Whoever produced that record must have had serious substance abuse issues, I reckon. :hmm:

Faith by Limp Biscuit is the worst cover of all time for no other reason than it begat an entire generation of nu-metal suckwads that felt the need to take random "ironic" covers and turn them into nu-metal crap with growly vocals in the chorus...except for the genius bands that thought they were so much more clever than the rest of their nu-metal brethren because they made the growly vocals during the verses instead of the chorus--oh you're so clever--please die, or at least get back behind the register because I didn't come to 7-11 to listen to your awful ipod boombox, I came here to buy some beer and some beef jerky.

Before Michael Bolton was a soft rock cover singer, he did a couple solo records and was in the band Blackjack as Michael Bolotin along with Bruce Kulick, Sandy Gennaro, and Jimmy Haslip.

Does not excuse what he became, but I see your point about my "everything out of his mouth" comment. He probably says nice things to his mother too, but I'm still good with my comment. :scowl:

I agree with you. He went from being in a promising rock band that went nowhere to going where the big money was and did a complete turn around career wise but he sure did not sing the same way.
