That actually looks like a lot of fun. I would try that out if I was in the area and fit the criteria. And yes I agree with several other posters, that ad is better than 98% of the other ads on CL.

My neighbor across the road has a garage band or 2 and loves the Misfits. He has played with Jerry Only several times when he used to come to the US to do small venues.

No sale. I’ll happily do my gigs in the backs of big stages, with little light back there. I don’t mind being somewhat anonymous, but I didn’t put in all the time and practice for...that.

I joke about everything here, which is a good part of the fun.

I spent years doing originals. Right now I'm a 54 year old man playing in two cover bands and a jazz band. Y'all want to take shots at my hobby, I'll be !@#$~@ed if I can't do the same (in good fun - I respect those who play their own music). If that makes me a bad person, I'll deal with it when I go to confession...

There’s that word again. You do realize that joking is a synonym for ridicule right? I would think MOST people associate ridicule with humiliation and breaking down ones spirit. I (and I’m sure others) don’t believe that’s what’s going on here.

You know, the snow falls on both sides of the fence. Why should the concept be exclusive to any one side? Way too much dogma. I'll just refer you to the 1981 cassette only release, on the ROIR label, of the live album by one of my all-time favorite bands, The Dictators(who were never known to take anything seriously). At this point in the proceedings, everything's worthy of ridicule. It's an equal opportunity kind of thing.
