Cream P bass pickup cover?

I'm looking for cream colored P bass pick up covers for my bass. I bought the Allparts covers & they fit over the pickup but, not through the pickguard. The cover was noticeably larger than stock.

Anyone have or know where to find or have one for sale?

You could always route the pickguard.

I didn't want to route my new tortoise pickguard to fit pickup covers that are larger than normal.

i can't tell who actually makes those, whether it's really USA-spec fender or a little off like the allparts ones.

dimarzio makes them that are the correct size; unfortunately they also now have a little raised "dimarzio" logo molded into the corners.

@musikman43155 what brand is the pickguard? maybe it's the pickguard that's "wrong" rather than the covers.

The pickguard is Fender USA. They didn't fit the old or new pickguard. I held them up against the stock covers & then are @least 1/16 of an inch larger in both directions.

If you're extra sensitive about the tort issue, you could paint them yourself. I'm thinking about doing this with a P5 since they don't make cream covers for 5's. Some threads about it if you search. Krylon Fusion paint or similar.

I don't want the Dimarzio pickup though. I wonder if the Dimarzio cover would fit the Fender pickup or if they'd even sell just the cover for that matter.

I considered painting them, but, Id have to research that as well since I know nothing about paint either.

That's what I meant! The dimarzio covers fit real fender pickups and pickguards correctly.

they totally do, any dimarzio dealer can get them for you.

Well that's odd, I emailed dimarzio a week ago about some black covers for a set of their area j's
and the response was:

"Unfortunately, we do not sell those covers separately, although you can buy the pickups with black or cream covers installed. They need to be installed at our factory at the time the pickups are being built, and cannot be correctly retrofitted afterwards.

the area Js have the covers permanently sealed onto the pickups; they'll sell regular P, J or strat covers all day long. (dunno if the area, model, or ultra J covers are actually different spec than the regular ones to fit fenders.)

if it were a maple neck, i could see going with cream covers and gold knobs for that prince vibe; as it is with the rosewood, it's a tossup either way.

Welp, I attempted to buy ANOTHER set of precision bass cream pickup covers off of ebay. This time I waited for well over a week for the seller to tell me that the parts were broken & then refunded my money. The seller promised to send me the part anyway, but, of course they never did.

So any leads?

I think I'll email Dimarzio tomorrow, although if their cover says " Dimarzio " on it, then I don't want it.

No. The body is white, so cream would clash.

White covers, on the other hand, would be nice.
