That piece of wood has two piths in the pic and that is enough for me to not use it. It's also acer saccharinum and I megaloathe that species.

The guys atanexotichardwood.com would be able to get you a great piece for an instrument at a great price.

I don't know nothing about quartersaw ,str8saw, flatsaw

I dont know if I've turn flatsawn to quart or quart to falt.. but it has been working for me.... thanks again guys.. all of you are big help

There are three main cuts to wood: flat, quarter, and rift. Flat has the growth ring flat along the endgrain. Quarter has the growth ring perpendicular along the endgrain. Rift is in the middle at 45°.
