I'm thinking of throwing in a free upgrade to Rudy and make his pickups stacked. He's been such a nice and patient guy I just feel compelled to do more. Hopefully he'll read this, otherwise it'll be a nice surprise at completion time.

Wilser just saw the video (again). Id really liked to see this a few months ago before I put my hands in my neck plank. I did it Ok I it would be definetly helpfull. One question I have in mind is when you start to measure how thick the neck is at usual point (first fret, twelve or whatever)? Or you just go on having in mind what the client wants and what you feel when carving?

One vote for a sticky.

Edit: One more question: We know the neck carving with the belt sander should be much more faster... but which way you enjoy the most? with or without the powertool?

Of course, I always ask the client what neck shape they want and I shoot for that when carving regardless of method.

I enjoy doing it by hand the most. But these days I have to be efficient so the belt sander is a necessity. Hopefully I'll have the shop organized and access to the belt sander in the corner by the time I need to get to the next 5 necks :eek:
