Custom Bass Question?

I am in the market for a custom made six string and my first choice was carvin however they don't make a six string bolt on which is what I want because in my opion neck throughs don't do well on the road so does anyone have any custom companies I can checkout?.....Thanks in advance for your help!

GW Basses (gwbasses.com) is awfully close to the Carvin price range. For a really high quality reputable luthier, he's the cheapest I've seen. Chris Stambaugh would be next on that list.

Hardcase and a Shine backup! of course your entitled to your opinion, but are you really going to carry a spare neck "on the road" with you?

I'm not sure if you'll find this response helpful or not... There are a bazillion and one custom builders that will make a 6-string bolt-on, at a wide range of prices. The only way we can actually help is if you give a ton of details: your budget, visual style, and playing style are the absolute minimum. Beyond that, let us know if there are any other specific things you expect from this bass. THEN we can narrow it down a little.
