Data: quilt/spalt maple top and back, Nordstrand pickup, Huff bridge. Body will be alder with contrasting laminates between it and the top pieces. Carved scroll horn, Aggie pre, maple neck, 35" scale fretted, ebony board w/binding, no top dots or inlays.

Ah yes, they have a very...rustic quality about them. Quite reminiscent of DP basses by the looks of things there!

I'm waiting for a Custom bass too ! I ordered it a month ago, I think I still have to wait 1 or 2 more months...


It's a Warwick... With these specs:


-Warwick Streamer LX 5 string.

-Non-broadneck, 16.5mm string spacing.

-Bubinga Pommelé body, natural oil finish.

-Fretted Ovangkol neck with Tigerstripe Ebony fretboard.

-Matching headstock (Bubinga Pommelé).

-Black Hardware.

-35" scale.

-Active J/J MEC pick-ups.

-3 band EQ MEC.


Any opinion ?

Ahah, yeah it's gonna be heavy, but I'm used to heavy basses... My Sandberg is REALLY heavy too.

I already have a wide strap but I should get a Comfort Strapp soon... It will be ok i think...

That's a Darrin Huff bridge! Pretty cool, eh?

The quilt figure will stand out a lot better once finish is applied.. that's just bare, dry wood.

Darrin's realized he can't keep up with true custom orders. I've been waiting nearly 4 years for mine, some longer. He's going to finish the existing orders, and says he won't take new orders until he's caught up.

After that, he's going to offer a number of fixed designs, ranging from basic to fancy. I'm guessing he'll allow the purchaser some flexibility, but no more custom body shapes, etc.

Not a request, it just kind of came out that way. But he's got a suprise for me regarding that, so not exactly sure on the final product just yet.

The electronics aren't done yet, so it may change.
