I'm waiting on my new Noyce Dolphin 6 to arrive, another month or 2 and she should be in my hot little hands... patience is a virtue..

I talked with Wilser of Ramirez Bass (Link Removed) this weekend. He's gonna start my build. Wilser is great, he has a wonderful combination willing to do anything and giving you his honest opinion on what he thinks will work for what you want. I am going for a vintagy look with some modern feel and features. I have a MM/J 6er maple/walnut/ebony Carvin that I love, and needed to add a different flavor to my "gig/studio" worthy basses.

Here's the specs:
-5 string fretted F model (the new version) Which kinda came out of some conversations that Wil and I were having here on TB and over email.
-wenge pickguard (3 layer wenge/maple/wenge)
-swamp ash body (no figured top)
-3 piece bolt on maple neck
-maple fingerboard with wenge binding and wenge block inlays
-zero fret and wenge nut
-Audere 3 band preamp w/active bypass and 3 position mid switch
-18v electronics
-Nordstrand BigSplits pickups
-Hipshot black hardware
-brass A style bridge
-clover leaf ultralite tuners
-maple headplate veneer
-Rb logo in abalone
-19mm (3/4") spacing at the bridge
-16" fingerboard radius

I started my own thread to track progress.

Well, it's almost a month and here's where we are, Wil is one of the best:

I have nothing but praise for Wilser Ramirez. He's a great guy to work with.

oh, man, that is gorgeous! I'm going to be in NH later this year. maybe we can meet up and I can get my grubby hands on it for a minute or 2!

:bassist: ;) :D

I'd be down with that.:bassist:

A couple years ago when i was just starting to meet a bunch of erbist's on myspace,i saw you had a show in conway NH.

I made plans with some buddy's to go check it out..then i realized it was an old show you had listed on your websight...haha!:hiding:

But ya,when will you be in the great ol' north east anyway?

All of Scott's work looks amazing! I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Look forward to some more progress shots. What are the specs?

Yeah, I already have a guitar he built... That's right, I'm also a guitard.

It'sa 34" scale 5-er. Afromosia chambered body, Claro Walnut top, wenge/maple neck, ebony board. Nordstrand dual coils, bart pre (with a 3-way pickup selector switch - why don't more basses have these?). Oil/wax finish. Gonna be killer.

That's awesome. Looks like it's gonna have a nice thin neck. Should be killer!
