I was actually wondering if you had like a full front shot...the profile of the bass...it looks great though.

Ah, you do the AJ thing with your string spacing at the bridge. It does make sense for sure. I'm looking at my next bass being something like 16.5mm center to center. I don't slap and I like the strings to be closer.

I'm looking at a Brubaker for my next bass but these have always looked great to me. Maybe next time! Have fun with it!

Thanks man, look forward to seeing yours.

B3Bop,
Great bass, like the graduated string spacing... is that relatively common? I'd love to try bass set up that way. I take it that regular Hipshot A-style bridges can achieve this, right?

Thanks. The graduated spacing isn't done very frequently I don't think. It makes a lot of sense to me on 6+ stringed basses, especially ones with tighter string spacing less than 18mm. The Hipshot A is perfect for this. I'm perfectly comfortable on my 5 with 19mm bridge spacing center to center. I don't feel it makes quite the difference there as it does on my 7.

+1. Graduated spacing also works very well for the fat very low strings (low F# and C# strings)...the graduated spacing on my Sei 8 string feels very natural and works really well.

I'll bump this thread back into action! Here are two shots of my 'slowly but surely' Clement fretless. We are still waiting on tuners and bridge, but expect them to make it into Florida in the next few days. I almost expect TomB might say, 'Nice ash'!

Geez, so much here since I last posted here !!

As always all the basses are simply gorgeous !!

RLK - The Laggan came out fantastic. I remember you posting the 'blueprint' for it!!

Stew - That Conklin is 'off the chain' (as Americans would put it !!). Can I ask what the tuning is ?? Are you using the low F# string like my fellow Sei-owner Sei24bass ??

The first bass there looks incredible Angus. Looks like it's gonna be a stunner!

Much to my own delight, I got an email from Alan from AC guitars today with the first update on the build process

really didn't expect to continue it and didn't expect the same top that I chosen 1.5 years back will still be available :) Can't wait ..

Johan, haven't seen a Banavente that wasn't a standout.
Yours will be insane with that intense wood!

Some might recall my ordering this last spring

Well she's ready to go to the painters (same folks who do the Sadowskis)
Matt thinks clear-coat would look good.
I agree, but I still wants my trans-white.
Nowadays Matt does a pre-paint stringing to be sure all is good.

He says it plays great.
He also says due to the pre-NAMM rush, it could be up to a month before it gets back for final assembly.

P.S.

There's one more (the last?) project a-cookin'
This one's reeeal gooood! >8v].
Will post soon
