[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]being built for me by Alembic-

It will get a honey/amber tinted finish. Mahogany body, one ebony neck lam and Signature electronic package.

This one JUST completed... hope that doesn't disqualify me from posting. I included a couple of the early pics here if that helps. :)

This bass is completely off the hook insanely good. Lightweight ash 8.4 pounds complete! Walnut top, birdseye maple board on an ash neck, and the world logo. I can't take my hands off of it... :)

Early pics...

This pic is pretty especially crappy, but I posted it anyway... it really looks cool in the case, too. :)

Haven't been keeping up, missed a lot of cool stuff!
That MTD is very, very nice!
(as is the Lull P, the Bordwell, the Alembic, etc.)

But hey Vic, since you entered the "wait zone"; how about a little info on your wait, and dealings with the builder, etc.
We need to know that you suffered a little.;)

I guess I'm curious about others here too.
Seeing the basses almost done or finished is nice, but it ain't sharing the weight of the wait. (ooh that came out clever-ish)

Wait on my Laggan was 22 months(!!)
Wait on my MPG Six was 9 months.
My Ramirez Seven- we're on month 7. Should be done by mid-late August.

Here's the current state of the Ramirez

The PU innards are next, then final shaping/finishing and assembly.

It's not quite a straightforward case for me, but I could probably accurately summarize to say it was about a 9 month build cycle, Mike was fantastic regarding any questions I had and suggestions, and my dealer was Joel at The Groove Shoppe. This was my second absolutely flawless purchasing experience with them. A free bonus is their access to Mike shop. They can sometimes get some inside access to cool wood (tho Mike found this piece on his own :)).

Some outstanding basses on this thread!!!

I put down my deposit on a CallowHill J(unk)5 on July 2nd. Should be 4-6 months. My first custom.

Body: Lightweight Ash, Natural finish
Neck/Fretboard/Pickguard: (in order of how I stand right now)
1. Maple with Black blocks and binding / black pickguard or no pickguard (take a look first)
2. Maple with Tort blocks and binding / tort pickguard or no pickguard (take a look first)
12" Radius
Preamp: Nordstrand or OBP-3 -- vol/pan/passive tone with push-pull bypass/ mid with select/ stack b-t
No control plate (5 knob)
Nordstrand Big Splits in 70’s location
Hipshot Hardware (chrome)
Dunlop dual-design straplocks (chrome)

I'm stoked!!

Cool. From the web site, the Groove Shoppe seems like a slice of bass-geek heaven!
Pretty unique dynamic, their interaction with customers/builder(s).
(I thought they only connected into Fodera's workings).
I guess they're more like brokers than just retailers.

I have to say that walnut/maple/ash is tasteful perfection on that particular model.
