Custom Blender Idea - Help me think this through

So, any more thoughts on stompers?

Apart from a full bypass, and on/off for the distortion channel, I'm thinking an on/off for the LPF on the clean channel might be useful — total of 3 stompers.

A stomper for the phase switch might be useful if you've got lots of phase-inverting pedals in the distortion channel and you're switching those up a lot or having a few on at a time in different combinations.

My pedal board is pretty lean, so a variety of stompers would be overkill for my needs. I'm pretty much after an external clean blend adder to my Dunwich boxes (none of them have that feature). Perhaps a pass filter stomper might make sense for some applications. As I just stated earlier, I've not been in a position where this pedal would be a necessary utility for me, at the moment. That said, my 2016 bonus will be arriving soon, and gear is fun

I've read this several times and it seemed like an easier concept at the beginning...I thought I was going the same with with a dirt loop with a high pass on it with a clean loop...

I found that in the wounded paw v4 with the hpf switches added for two of the channels...the clean loop has the baxandall tone stack, so I can cut highs there...I get the added feature of cutting lows on two channels, if I want, I can reverse phase, and I can go series or parallel and reverse the series order on two channels, plus I've got the feedback control on one loop, too...

it seems you're going in a little bit of a different direction, though...I'm still wiring mine up, so I can't speak to performance yet...I've got an ab-y switch I'm using for my aftershock and I have the control input hooked up to a tap tempo switch I can toggle between presets, as well...not quite the midi functionality, but a lot of options with a small footprint

Tell me about it. It started feeling like a $10 solution to a $1 problem. However, I think many of the features are "needed." In theory, I see a lot of validity to Brimstone's idea (taken from the Ouroboros) to have gain controls on the clean and dirty loops to adjust for any volume loss related to pass filtering the signals. On the other hand, the clean "loop" adds some complexity that I might feel like cutting out. Really, what I'm after is the pass filtered dry lows to support the effected sound in the upper frequencies.

In the Ghost Trap, both channels work at all time regardless of whether there's anything plugged into the return unless it's muted. This allows:
1- high/low signal splitting independent of each other (rather than a single crossover)
2- (this is what I imagine I'll use if for most often) cleans to be added to an affected channel. For example, clean lows with independent LPF added to the distorted High channel that has an independent HPF.
3- because of the wide L/HPF on each channel, you could definitely make one channel all mids, the other full range, and then add it as an added mid boost

I hear you! I'm sort of going with what is commercially available, but I like your idea a lot...to sort of accomplish what you're going after I'm hoping to just boost the lows and cut the highs on loop 1 with the tone stack...it isn't a low pass filter for the clean signal, but I do get two legit high pass filters on two channels that are adjustable between 100 Hz and 250 Hz...and even then, those aren't the specific frequencies you're going after, but if it works for me, I have essentially eliminated what would have been a rolls crossover from my chain, which is what I was going to go with originally...

I gotta say, though, that ouroboros is a sweet pedal with a lot of tonal options...I was looking really hard at one of those a while back and I ended up going with a b7k and a Sheehan drive pedal...ended up not liking the tone of the Sheehan pedal, and it's a good thing, because my son uses it with his guitar and I can't get it back from him

Now that I have a DSM OmniCab Sim, I'm revisiting this idea. I think that the LPF function I wanted is now going to be handled by the OCS. I'm now considering just testing out a Divaricator to handle blend function. IE offers a 5 day test period, which is certainly comforting vs. ordering a custom pedal I'm not 100% set on.

i hope it works out for you...the divaricator looks sweet and if you get the added bonus of the functionality you're after, you're set...seems like you can't really go wrong with being able to test it out a few days...IE makes cool stuff
