Custom Egilegor Basses -anyone have one/any experience?

Hi everyone!

I stumbled on the boutique basses of Egilegor basses a few days ago having bought some bass parts from the shop owner on EvilBay.

EGILEGOR BASSES

Their 'Kaia' model (especially in a headless version) really has my attention after having seen the recent 'Carvin Vader headless basses' thread and Anna Sentina playing one. The prices (at least here in Europe) seem pretty reasonable for something that you can have built to your exact specifications.

So, does anyone here have one of these basses or any experiences they could share? The pickups are produced in house and I wonder what they sound like?

Yes, exactly like that one! How on earth did I miss the the shopping cart thingy?! I guess I just assumed all instruments would be made and sold to order, so there would never be a stock bass!

It's the sounds and shape / feel of the neck that interest me and so anyone with real world experience could be more objective in their opinions.

I saw there's even a fanned fretted 7 string in the gallery...something for everyone!

TL/DR: bloody amazing instruments, incredible value and a fantastic luthier to work with. Highly recommend.

Thanks Misha Adair! Unfortunately I'm not in a position to be able to buy anything at the moment but it was nice to read through your own custom instrument and dream for a moment!

Since my original post I have done business with Imanol about 30 times because he's the only person in Europe who stocks Hipshot bass hardware. I did reach out once to him regarding his ability to install stainless steel frets on custom builds and as you already know: yes, he can. I just need the funds now....maybe one day!

Yeah, a really tough time indeed -it has totally changed my priorities, bass owning and even playing (frequency and with who) like nothing ever before it.

Here's to better times and eventually, an Egilegor ownership!

Emanol .......some of the nicest basses ive ever seen but , the builder is not a straight up cat ........had one of his basses bought used from GC ,neck was twisted , he wasnt interested in replacing it (i was paying) ......I returned the used bass to guitar center ..........several months later i ordered some really nice custom knobs from him on ebay waited nearly 3 or 4 months ,never saw the knobs i paid for he kept telling me they were coming ,filed with ebay undelivered product he was angry about it ,never saw the knobs ..........very difficut to reach by email or phone ....one conversation was him venting about his depression .............I gave up

If it interests anyone, this Egilegor Kaia 6 at Doctor Bass in Spain listed at 2500 Euros has been on their website for years. You might have some negotiating room since it's been in their inventory for such a long time.
