Custom Grabber - 1st A to Z build

I've pondered on acoustic bass cases, but they were all too deep for my grabber, so i'd really have to pack the bottom and top with foam to keep the bass from rattling back and forth. Then i stumbled upon this thread which lead me to recalculate my own grabber bass and it's actually 48.25 inches long overall. And i won't have to modify the body, so i can keep the 17 inch wide hip and it'll be a tight squeeze. As Aquateen said: "I didn't comress the foam while taking measurements so if you need something a bit wider, there's probably an extra 1/2" or so you could squeeze." I think i'll be able to get away with it. Tomorrow i'm going to my music store to see how much they sell it for and if it's in stock. If not, i'll order online.

So they can't order the case unless i pay in full. But i have no clue if it'll fit in it for sure. Like yeha, i have dimensions but who's to say they're tur. SO i'm still browsing around, and acoustic cases won't work since acoustic bass necks are much higher up than my electric bass neck. I've found a couple but not much dimensions for it. Yorkville has a Jack casady type bass case. SO we'll see within the next week or so.

I've played dunlop bass strings, and TBH, they didn't sound as punchy as D'addario strings. Also, cause i'm pretty much now a die hard fan of D'addario strings (have it on all my guitars/basses) they just have that special ring to them. I may or may not have pro steels on this bass as opposed to XL but i'll see when the time comes.

P.s. I'm also going to start clear coating the body, and finish up the clear coat on the neck as well.

Just a suggestion to stay within the "heavy" theme of the bass... ;)

In today's news since theres not much to talk about for this build until everything is pretty much "cured", the neck is set aside to cure for 2 weeks, i'm still missing 2 coats on the body for it to be set aside for 2 weeks as well.

As i've mentioned before, for any future grabber/ripper builds i may have, i'll be keeping them all at 21.5 inches long x 16 inches wide x 1.5-1.75 thickness. 2 inches is good, but very massive, and heavy perhaps in the long run. Never the less, it'll be that, i actually can't wait cause i think i'll be building myself a ripper bass...right after my epiphone thunderbird is back from the dead

Any particular favourite out of them all? Although yes they produce very different tones, is there one that's more appealing than the others.
