Custom guitar picks

I couldn't find a forum devoted to picks so I'm posting this question here. moderators-please move it if there is a better place for it.

My question is-does anyone know of a manufacturer of guitar picks who would make high quality picks, custom shape and thickness and personalized?

I know about D'Andrea and Dunlop and am not interested in them. I've been searching the internet and found a number of companies who claim to manufacture custom picks, but I've not heard back from any yet. I suspect most are actually made in Asia. There seems to be no Canadian company that actually makes their own picks.

The picks don't need to be made in Canada or the USA but they would have to be high quality and able to ship quickly.

I thought I'd ask the Talkbass guys because you've proven to be the most in tune with what's happening.

I had been looking at Custom Picks lately and I have to admit, finding a company to do what you want seems Extremely Difficult.

Most of the providers of Custom Picks have locked into the most common shapes (if not ONLY the Standard 351 shape) and I haven't found a single one that offers custom shape and gauge. Not in anything but boutique, handmade, non-personalized picks anyway.

On the flip side, if anybody wants 351 shaped Full Color Picture Picks, or single color Imprinted Picks, they are WAY cheaper than they used to be.

Good Luck! :hyper: Let us know what you find.

Does standard shapes and Dunlop shaped triangles.

Thanks for the tip. I'll contact them today. I've found 3 other companies, only one of whom will actually make a custom shape and make their own, from scratch. They're based in Australia. All three companies I emailed got back to me within a couple hours which I found encouraging. All seemed eager to do business. Refreshing, compared to what you normally get from gear companies.

I'm going to get a few samples sent out from the companies who offered to do so. There just might be a stock shape that's suitable. Then it's just a matter of the right stiffness.

Once I finish my search, I'll let you know what I've found. Thanks for the replies, guys. If anyone else has any suggestions please jump in.

haha. i know why some people do it. i was asking why the op was doing it. merch is a ummm...pretentious reason for having personalized picks unless you are the rolling stones or kiss. which im assuming you are not...perhaps you think you are?

i will check out your bands and then give you clearance as to whether or not i give you allowance to have personalized picks.

what is your band web link? :smug:
