custom laminated neck vendors?

hello, I am considering a modification for my first build involving a laminated neck through core however I am a bit lazy in doing it myself, so I was wondering if anyone would know of any builders that can supply such semi-finished part.. any tip appreciated

ps. sorry for sounding like a fraud..

I can recommend my friend Keith Horne (keithhorne1@gmaildotcom). He specializes in custom necks and projects. He's in the process of moving his shop into the same building that I'm in, right across the hall from me. We're in the quiet little town of Fillmore, CA, north of Los Angeles.

Hi Bruce. When will Keith have his shop up and running? Does he have a web-site? I am interested in seeing his work.

Keith moved all his machines into his new shop across the hall from me over this past weekend. He's still getting set up, and I'm going to be helping him with some of the electrical wiring. It'll probably be a few weeks before he gets the shop operational. Plus, he and his wife are also moving their home at the same time. Keith has been working several days a week out of the EchoPark Guitars shop, so he still has access to that shop too.

I'm not sure if he has a web site yet. If you want to see some of his work, read through this thread:

I and people I know have bought some necks from them off of E-BAY and they were pretty crappy. The fretwork is sub standard, truss rods were garbage, radius's all wrong and they look like they are building them with jig saws and skil saws. The Hilimire kids seem to have the right concept, but need to develop some QUALITY building skills and pay attention to detail. This can be achieved over time if they are serious and stick with it.

I would like to add an update to my previous post. Hilimire guitars was sold around 2 years ago. The new owner Tucker does excellent work, he builds an awesome neck. If you buy a Hilimire neck these days, you will be very happy! Great craftsmanship!
