Here is a MIM "70's" Jazz bass with a Blacktop Jazz neck. Stock hardware.
Upgrades:
Fender "Original" Jazz pickups
Aguilar OBP-3 PP/ST pre-amp with passive tone control, which is a DPDT push-pull potentiometer that is wired as a bypass switch. So you have the Aguilar system with passive tone if desired, or bypass the Aguilar for standard passive controls with passive tone. The Aguilar offers mid control with push-pull for your choice of 400 or 800 hZ center point, stacked bass and highs control knobs. So in order from front to back: vol/blend/mid (push/pull 400/800), stacked bass/treble/passive tone (push-pull bypass). This is comparable to the American Elite Jazz, with the added 400/800 push-pull.

Black Beauty strings, 45-105
I play it with an Aguilar Tonehammer DI PRE-amp box, my shuttle 6.0 and a 4ohm LDS 210.

Nice!

That's a lot of wires crammed into that tiny compartment!

I did a 2-band with mine, only I got a stacked 250k pot for neck volume/passive tone. That way I can stay with 4 knobs. I could have gone with a stacked treble/bass pot and kept the output jack on the control plate...

Before I got a black knob for the bridge volume...

Nice! Yeah, I didn't originally plan for this preamp to go in this particular bass, which is why the wires are at full length. Usually I trim them to fit the cavity better! Even with the long wires, it still fits fine.
