Custom painting on bass body.

What style of headstock are you goin' with? Is it a 5'er?

It is a fiver, with neck custom built by Stephen Cyr. I may yet do some mods to headstock shape.

Cool, I can't wait to see it. There are very few paint jobs that really get my attention like this but this one is top notch from what I can see.

What a cool idea, Was it original? Or was it inspired from something you saw elsewhere.
Obviously turquoise has been around forever but I mean I never woulda thought to have it painted onto something.

You sir get a hypothetical overly exaggerated high five on that one.

I have completed spraying of the clear coats (about a week ago) so now I'll let it cure for a couple months befote finish sanding and buffing.

Waiting for lacquer to cure, so no update. But I do intend to share here the contact info of the graphic artist, in case any of you want to use his services.

Finish sanding done, buffing next. Also did headstock alteration using coping saw and jigsaw. Pictures soon!

Probably didn't need to wait that long, but wanted to make sure it was fully cured.

Neck is done - finished the maple (after finish sanding) with Watco Danish Oil dark walnut, followed by orange oil, and the results are quite good. That look in contrast with the ebony board is striking.

Have done some buffing today, but got interrupted by a thunderstorm.

Oh wow, I forgot about this bass, this makes my heart hurt I like it so much.

I may need to change my pants.

When you post the finish pics, I may have to avoid seeing them to avoid the pains of envy and jealousy.

I did some more buffing and polishing, and it's beginning to look spectacular - even better than I had hoped at the start. No pictures yet - I'm very particular about the quality of photos I do, but it will be worth the wait, believe me!
