Custom Pedal Board

Here's mine, it's still a work in progress.
"We don't no no stinkin' effects!"
Seriously, I've played for around 35 years using no effects except for a handful of times and I really didn't need 'em then either. I've always tried but never found anything really useful, my priority was to ensure my basic quality of sound was good. Sayin' that, I still never gave up the quest for a good overdrive, one that was versatile enough to give me lots when I needed but would usually sit in adding grit and grind without changing my tone. I now use a Broughton Terraformer... I also added an Ampeg Classic Pre and a Broughton Low+High Pass Filter. The board has a dual purpose, firstly for direct recording and secondly, for live applications. Do I need 'em, no... but now I have a means of adding a bit more drive when I would like more drive etc. etc.
If I really feel the need for special effects, I can call up some older, and 'truly' vintage effects, insert them before (EH BassBalls, Ibanez AFL) or after (Boss CE-3 Chorus) the board.
