Custom Pickguard for Sting Bass

My Sting Precision is the one bass I've kept the longest (2003 I think). It's not my #1 gig bass, but it does get out a bit. I never liked the stock white guard - too much of a good thing, so I purchased a black one. After a while, I took it off, so no PG at all. My wife got into 'pour painting' last year. Recently, we selected the paint colours and tones for a custom PG. My first colour choices didn't work out at all, so I asked for darker tones and she added some metallic ones. The paint turned out fine. She applied an epoxy gloss which makes the whole thing 'pop' as creative people like to say. Strange thing happened, during the drying time, the epoxy receeded from the edges in a few areas. No matter to me; I'm happy with it. She wants to order 2 more guards and do it again. We'll see. As a side note, I sanded off the gloss finish on the body and neck a long time ago. No regrets there.

first time I read this I was thinking "needs to appreciate the artist more, it's better than just fine, should bow to artist and give a further payment as bonus". Then I read again and noticed it's your wife. That explains it.
