Custom pickup bezel?

I just recently got my little piggies on a Spector Euro 5 LX. Love it.

Except for the harsh edges on the pickups. I play thrashy punk with a pick, and I keep beating the hell out of myself with those damnable harsh edged (but wonferul sounding) EMG pickups. Been thinking on ways to remedy that... but nothing easy comes to mind.

Just thought today about maybe a polyurethane trim bezel with beveled edges that could maybe be either slipped on with a friction fit, or maybe just clearanced to slip easy and fasten with 2 sided tape or something. Gotta account for body radius and such... but I guess I can figure something out.

Anyone know of any products already out there before I try to wittle my own?

If you are up to doing some whittlin', then I suggest that you carve up some wooden blocks to attach beside the pickup. Not necessarily a full surround ring, just a couple of rounded blocks on the sides and ends of the pickup. Stick them on there with double sided tape. Play around with the size and shape of the blocks to see what works for you.

When you arrive at a shape that you like, glue the blocks together into a surround ring. Coat it with black epoxy or something tough. Then stick the whole thing down with tape.

If you're going to be wailin' on it with a pick, it'll eventually get scratched up and ugly. So, refinish it or make up a new one. Consider it to be a consumable part.

Or just rubber wedges. You could double sticky tape them on.
