Gotta give it to you man, it looks beautiful. I especially love the pick above. The contrast between the back of the neck, going to the blood wood, then to the birdseye maple is beautiful!

The front of the bass being so wild and the back being extremely plain Bobby and I thought it would be a good idea to give it some color to make it more interesting on the back and match better with the colors on the front. A transblack/reddish brown burst was the decision.

Killin' work! I can't stand doing bursts and paint work on an exotic top instrument though, that's just wrong...

Yeah, hmmm.. I'm not quite getting if this comment above is negative or if you misunderstood something.
Honestly, I thought he was kiddin' round.
Tim's having a laugh. Check out some of his latest work, you'll get it.

Honestly, I thought he was kiddin' round.
yeah, but now that I'm reading it more carefully I think he was serious, but not in the way some might interpret it. I think maybe he was referring to not liking doing it, you know, the process, the difficulty, the masking, etc.
I actually got hate-mail from TB'ers when I had the audacity to throw sunbursts on taped-off tops a few years back.
Aw man, I was just havin' fun is all.
I actually got hate-mail from TB'ers when I had the audacity to throw sunbursts on taped-off tops a few years back. I wasn't the first to do it, but I thought it was cool to see Wilser rockin' house in the same way.
(Just tryin' to be funny...)
Much respect, Wilser!
