OK, so here's a drawing I did in MS Paint of the Whammy pedal control layout that would be ideal.

I didn't do Atari screen captures. I made those graphics in Microsoft Paint.

FYI, this can be accomplished with the Digitech multieffects like the BP200. You can set custom values for the toe up/down positions, so you could, for instance, have a whammy pedal that shifted up a quarter tone for microtonal music, or second up/minor seventh up (toe up/down, respectively), or whatever.

How are the BP series?

I have an RP300a I picked up cheap, and it's not bad. But I wonder how the bass specific models are.

I thought it was fine for a multi-effect. The distortions and amp modeling are bad, but it can do some nifty things, like the custom whammy thing I was talking about. They have some different effects than the guitar versions, but I kind of doubt that they have any special eq voicing that makes them sound different from the guitar version. Mine's broken, though, so I haven't used it in a few years.

I know this can be accomplished with the BP series. That's what inspired me to think of the programmable whammy pedal.

I think having whammy mode and harmony mode separate is a flaw. If you could set up and down to any harmony or whammy function, you could hit the truly bizarre and delightful.

For example you could do toe down +1 harmony and toe up for -1 whammy. That would let you do all of the Rage rhythm parts

I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible.
