CWB: 23 TBD

lets make 2014 BASS YEAR:bassist::bassist::bassist:

We should!
I ran into my drummer last night after a dance lesson my friend and i go to and we had a beer and BS'd. Basically his wife (our singer) doesnt want to be with him and the two guitar players are pretty busy, but he invited my friend (who can sing but has never tried to sing with a band) to come and jam sometime. She has her doubts, but like i told her, if nothing else, we play along with the mp3 and have fun making noise, drinking beer and laughing our butts off at ourselves. :)
I just gotta find a time when hubby is out of town so i can be out late if i want. :-)

My band jammed tonight and I thought it went well. Actually I think it was one of the most productive rehearsals we've had! Had fun and got some songs worked out.

Oh yes, and I shot a personal best (87 on a par 71) on the golf course today so I went in with a pretty good mood!

Vocal audition #1 down. Went relatively well, I think. I got asked back for a second go.

Sweet!! :bassist:

My guitarist threw a Halloween party at his house tonight..of course I had a costume..

I was going to dress up for Halloween, but the out fit would have been a little too scary for little ones, so I decided to just be myself. (Scary enough.)

The front of the house is decorated up, I have about 250 full sized candy bars as well as glow sticks that I give out to each kid. I get a kick out of it.

Picked up a "new" bass today. I'd been kinda GASsing for a p-bass, and yesterday I found a listing for a Squier p-bass on craigslist. I got in touch with the guy and he sends me pictures of a pretty decent looking Squier Precision Special. I went over today to look at it..a little dirty, fretboard was pretty dry, but otherwise in decent shape and the electronics weren't shot. I brought my GK MB Fusion and 210 to test drive it..sounded pretty good through the rig, so I gave the kid 50 bucks and left with it.

I cleaned it up, quenched the wood's thirst, and did a rudimentary setup on it until new strings show up. I played it for about an hour. The precision tone all by itself isn't my cup of tea, but with that jazz p/u, it makes it more pleasant to my ears. I definitely dig the jazz profile neck on this bass..hate the chunky p-bass profile.

It won't be my main bass, but I will certainly bring it to gigs for songs that would sound better with that p-bass thump.

You love that P tone in the live setting tho. I had the same bass in Sunburst. Always had the bridge pickup turned up when playing solo but I barely ever used it when I was playing with the band. Love them Ps.
