As much as I love my G&L LB-100, I would have gone with one of these in a heartbeat. A traditional P with the truss rod wheel is my dream P.

What is the Oaks show?
I have an R1200GS for road trips and hauling the girlfriend and I have a GSX-R1000 for, well, road trips and hauling a**.I actually rode the GSX-R from CA to VA last Labor Day to get it here after I moved here. A buddy rode the BMW here for me. If you haven't yet (I can't remember), you should go over to this thread and post a pic of your ride:

Riding a Gixxer across the country is hardcore. Well done.

A Gixer for distance - Dude, props in a big way.... My HD, Im hurtin going from NJ to Laconia or Lake George..
I rode my ZX-14 from Boston to Memphis and spending days in the crouching position got rough after a while.
Awww, man! Your butt just needs some trainin' up! Then that trip will be just one long day's ride in each direction. Okay, one really long day.I've ridden 1100 miles in one day (around 20 hours) a few times, but haven't yet gone 1300 (Boston to Memphis). Now that I've got this BMW, though, that should be a cake walk!
I should clarify that trip to Memphis took me 3-1/2 days.![]()
You guys are way overthinking this - it's just another bass brand in the world of basses. If you like them, buy them and play them, if not, choose something else. I am happy to have more choices, and an expert like D. Lakin building basses is certainly good for the consumer.
Initially Dan made a list of “60-70 of my favorite bass players”, among which Bob Glaub’s name figured prominently. Fortuitously, Bob had rented a Lakland for a session in Los Angeles, the two of them met in ’96 at a NAMM show, and their collaboration was born. Dan cites Glaub’s track on, “The Pretender” by Jackson Browne as, “The perfect bass track”. Hard to dispute that one………….
Too funny! On your vintage Norton? With original Lucas, the Prince of Darkness, electrics?![]()
Too funny!
I should be fair to myself and say I lost a day visiting the Barber Museum on the way there.
