D'addario Slow Wounds

If I recall, they were released as a “revolutionary” CNC-based product, their first attempt to automate and calibrate much of their hand-winding process. Somewhere, maybe in Bass Player mag?, I think I read that they adapted the technology across their line and so Slowounds was “absorbed” as a product. Whether that’s true or just my memory at work, I too liked those strings - thought they had a big warm presence. Maybe there’s a D’Ad expert around here …??

I know this is an old thread but I always wandered why D'addario stop making Slowound bass string, I thought they were AWESOME!!!!
I heard it "became redundant once they made the move to make all their strings in the same way." They were my 1st choice back before they were discontinued.

Still miss that Tapered Low B String tho...
