If I recall, they were released as a “revolutionary” CNC-based product, their first attempt to automate and calibrate much of their hand-winding process. Somewhere, maybe in Bass Player mag?, I think I read that they adapted the technology across their line and so Slowounds was “absorbed” as a product. Whether that’s true or just my memory at work, I too liked those strings - thought they had a big warm presence. Maybe there’s a D’Ad expert around here …??
I heard it "became redundant once they made the move to make all their strings in the same way." They were my 1st choice back before they were discontinued.
