I think they're a joke personally. The fact that a company would rather market a bass toward gender and, I quote from MF "A high-quality bass that she'll feel at home on", rather than ergonomics, comfort, playability, and the nuts and bolts of what you need to get started on the instrument is rediculous.

It's horribly uncomfortable, because of the neck diving. But it sounds and play great, when you manage to hav e a good position Cool !!!
Take no offense please, but I have to say that I find cute Parisian girls playing bass to be extremely hot. Then I find plain jane on instrument playin Parisian girls to be extremely hot too.
Oh, and Daisy Rock instruments? I've played much worse.
I have the Retro H 12 string guitar (white pearl) and it's really nice.
Rumor I have heard is that some of the Daisy Rock guitars are built in same factorys that do the import Schecters, which would explain the above average quality.

Well, I'm french, but as you may not know, french don't mean parisian... I'm not from Paris, but from Lyon (second city of france for information...

Finally, this bass is uncomfortable, it's a shame...But hey... comfortable basses, there are a lot... And it sounds good for the price, I've played worse bass, lots of worse bass.

I too have just received my Daisy Rock Retro-H 12 string electric guitar (I'm using it in an early Genesis tribute band - I need to play as much guitar as bass!).
It's a pretty decent instrument actually. It plays well, has a nice fingerboard, good pickups (made by Semour Duncan) and has a great sound. The rosewood board is actually a pretty nice piece of wood too, which seems to be more and more rare these days. To top it off, it's a really nice looking guitar - pearl white with chrome pickup covers (like a '60's Firebird). Not girly in the least.
I'd definitely check out the Retro bass, but nobody around here stocks the darn thing. I actually had to special order the 12 str, but Guitar Player gave the instrument a pretty glowing review so I took a chance.

I have one, and plays nice. Has a surprising punch, and dosn't eat the batteries too fast.
Unfortunately they're out of production. I play in a blues, funk something band, and makes the chicks melt in my arms hahaha

It's kind of stupid that they don't make the Hearbreaker or the flower shaped basses or guitars anymore. Now they're all pretty basic with pink and purple glitter colors. Besides, of the four basses ONE is 32" scale, other are normal 34". No offense but basses targeted to (teenage) girls should IMO be mostly short scale (like the Squier Bronco of Hello Kitty series). Hell, I can barely handle my 34" Iceman and I'm definitely not a teenage girl.
