WOOOWWWWW what an amazing board!!!!! Is that a DD7 or 3?? I miss my DD3. How you like that Wombtone?? And how do you use it normally? And the smaller versions of the cat tail and pharaoh! Hell yeah.
Thank ya, sir! That's a DD-7 & the little saturn switch is a tap tempo control. I love the wombtone, even if it's more than one would ever typically need in a phaser. Had the Grand Orbiter for a long time before I found a cheap-ish wombtone. I use all three presets - mostly the two I have set for a 4 and 6 stage phaser - pretty deep/lush settings with different speeds to start. The third presets is a real weird, 'off-axis' phase.
Who’s getting a Mammoth Tamer? I’m very tempted... Just wondering how much this will change the sound with my MBD-2, Volt Thrower and VT Bass through the regular Bloop.
I'm a bit confused @father of fires . So does the Mammoth Tamer do the same function as the standard bloop to any buffer-friendly dirt/fuzz in the loop, but also works with fuzzes that hate buffers? Or is it an either/or function with a switch that essentially changes the character of the Bloop's clean signal depending on what you need?
How about "The Bloomer" or "OK Bloomer".
Also...I think these tweaks were the right call last night. The TAFM is just too good, and I can actually make it heftier with the bloop. The AOU clean blend is super punchy on its own, but blooping it makes the low end beefier and bigger.

The regular Bloop offers greater isolation between circuits but the Mammoth Tamer can do both.
Still kind of confused. Mostly in the sense that I like my bloop, and I want to be happy with it. But the unknown is so tempting...

The only difference is, do you find that your pedals sound different in or out of the loop?
This is legit only for folks that want to put a Wooly Mammoth or Harmonic Perc type pedal in the loop.
The type of pedals that hate buffered signals.

I think I'm going to put my order in. It'll help when using compression with Loop Blender's buffer. I won't have to work around the buffer or have to constantly tweak the HPF side-chain to work best for each pedal inside the Bloop. The Bongripper's boosted settings and the Annex Bass Channel's boosted tones also change a bit in the Bloop, so yep.. I also like the name Mammoth Tamer
I get the mod now. Great idea. Of all the praise I've heard and seen for the Bloop, I have seen maybe 2 guys, def 1 I know well, say they almost smashed their Bloop on the ground soon after they got it. I was really surprised to hear that. I couldn't believe that he not only didn't dig it, but hated it so much he was thinking of destroying it! But after he explained why, I could understand. For the most part. And I think this mod is for people exactly like that. He had a dirt pedal, can't remember which it was, that was very out of phase in the Bloop he got. And nothing he did would get it to work/sound good. Placement, phase switch, what he did or didn't put in the loop and or S/R. So for the money he spent on it and the hype some of us gave it really lead to high hopes for him. So when he got it and hooked it all up and it sounded terrible to him no matter how he set it up, well, you can see how that could be quite disappointing.
That was my very long way to saying, I totally get what and why this mod was created. For people who have very picky and oddball pedals that don't like buffers in their path.

That was very disheartening to read I would have loved the opportunity to help them set up their boards. But every pedal isn't for everybody.
Yeah I can imagine how you feel. I'm such a fan of your stuff and using it that when he told me that, I was almost as bummed as he was I think!! But like you said, everything can't be used by everyone in every given situation. I am interested to see if the new modded version would work for him though....almost scared to ask/tell him about it though haha I think I suggested reaching out to you which he may or may not have. Can't remember. I think he was just so frustrated that he just wrote it off...if I'm remembering correctly...
