Yes I have noticed the same thing. The MBD2 knobs need to be adjusted to slightly different positions when compared to the MBD1.

That’s because the smaller enclosure has a different resonant frequency.
Very close to pulling the trigger on a Bloop. Currently running a Fuzzrocious Demon and a Grey Stache (and a Spark Booster to add a little bit extra) before going into a DG B7K that is always on. Absolutely love my Fuzzrocious pedals and predominately happy with my sound however often find in a busy band mix that I lose some of the beefiness of my tone. Only recently looked into blending and automatically looked at the LS-2 but for my goal of adding some extra low end/clarity, everything I've read into it indicates that the Bloop is the one that's going to do the trick.
Just wondering if anyone runs or has run a similar set up and has benefitted from the addition of the Bloop?
I'm 99% sure I'm going to get it, just wanted to gather some thoughts first.

Get it. I do a similar thing and so do many folks on here. Dirt in the Bloop works very well.
I run a Demon, Cat Tail, & Grey Stache in a Bloop and I love the sound, prefer it to the clean blends on the Cat Tail & Demon. You may have to flip the phase switch between the two for optimal sound.
And MBD-2 right before the Bloop gives plenty of dirt options.
I'm another that uses the Loop Blender for the same purpose. It works great, plus I like how it almost makes pedals dual band-ish since it blends in parallel instead of dry/wet ratio. Makes my OD, distortion, and fuzz sound thick with a solid foundation... Similar to your setup, I run the Fuzzrocious Bongripper v2 in the Loop Blender. It maintains definition on the bottom end and it doesn't compromise the BR's grindy fuzz-stortion.. Those unaffected lows are awesome in the mix
I'd forgot how good stacking into the MBD is. The YYZ > MBD2 is beefy and gritty
I was using a Tech21 YYZ to beef up the low end of my Tech21 Oxford, which has been my main overdriven tone.
The Loop Blender kicked my YYZ off my board, and the Oxford now sounds clearer by itself. The lowpass really allows me to push the modded hi-mids/highs hard on the Oxford(labeled "treble" but it centers/ or starts at 2.5K)

Found a used MBD1 up here in Canada.

This thing Dooms. Sludges. Rocks. Then it became sentient and started inventing new sub-genres.
Ive always had 2 problems with bass pedals.
1. The lows would become too saturated and 'bloom' or 'sag' and I lose articulation. I.e. I love how muffs distort, but not how loose they sound.
2. The clean blend would be too harsh.
The MBD solves both with the depth and low pass blend! I thought X-Over style distortions would be the answer, but I do like my lows saturated a bit...
On to my next quest:
What do I stack into my MBD?
Ive been using a TC Grand Magus. Its actually a pretty solid bass distortion at high gain settings. It add lows back in as you crank the drive, it reminds me of an OCD style dirt.
However, it does not stack well with the MBD at high gain. It gets too saturated and loses definition.
At low gain the distortion into MBD sounds amazing! Lots of 'crunch', definition, and gets hairy (remember... I love muff distortion. Hairy is goood.). Buuut it loses low end.
I tried an OCD v2. Good enough bottom end at low gain.. but it doesnt clip the MBD in the highs/mids as much.. hence, not enough hair..
Considering an EHX battalion. It has EQ control over both the distortion and clean. I figure I can can dial in a bit of extra low on my clean, crank the mosfet distortion up a bit, and blend it slightly in for extra hair.
Thoughts or experiences with other pedals? Here are my settings

Hell yeah! Nice descriptions. I’ve stacked my MBD with another Damnation pedal, the para drive. I like how it sounds. It’s a rat based pedal for the most part. I’ve also stacked it with the rat in my HX stomp and it also sounds great imo. So I’d try a rat if you can.
Didn't even consider using my HX stomp.. Ive only used it for recording. I bet there are tonnes of options in there. Thanks for the input. Probably a great way of figuring out what type of drive I want.
I like the Rat idea too. I used to have an Abominable Dont Shred On Me. That thing ripped with clean bass under it. Im guessing the high mid boost in the rat is what pushes the MBD into the sweet spot.
Off to the guitar shop I go.
For Punk and Metal, I am really digging stacking it with a Klon clone/Loop Blender. You can see the MBD-1 is set for relatively low gain, while the Klon has the gain and treble boosted. The Loop Blender (Bloop) retains my low end, with the Klon adding the grind/klank. The definition stays intact.
Love that board man!!! I miss the Hookers Bass Machine. What a great pedal. And I always wanted to try the Idiotbox Han Taun. I think I'd really like it.
Yeah I would def check out the Stomp to see if there's stuff in there you can stack with the MBD. I used to have the Don't Shred on Me too. Pretty cool pedal. I think the Fuzzro Rat Tail is another rat that stacks really well with the MBD. Also check out the Timmy on the Stomp. I got a very close MBD sound out of it so it could be cool to stack those two. They may sound like an MDB on roids or something to that effect. Or maybe even the TS9 or 808. Whichever they have modeled in the Stomp. I think they have both of them in there.
Add the fact that you can run anything in the Stomp parallel with your clean signal adds so much more even! I know I used to run all my dirt in the HXFX loop and then work from there. A ton can be done indeed.
Well...now I want a loop blender for all my other dirt - even the stuff that has a clean blend.
Anyone tried the bloop with darkglass pedals that have their own blends? I'm interested in toying with running my AOU fully 'wet' and blooping it for more low end, even though the AOU's strong suit is mids/low mids.

Thanks man! I really like the Hookers Bass Machine on a p-bass with flats. It helps some of the nuances stand out more. If you get a chance, definately try out or pick up a Haun Taun. I also have the MXR Sugar Drive, which is a close runner up. The Bloop makes these pedals a nice edition and workable for my rig (Double Humbuckers).
I mainly run the MBD solo, followed by the Han Taun/Bloop. I seldom need both on, but when I do - it's fun
The MBD bumped my Cat Tail off the board. I never considered feeding the Cat Tail into it. I'll have to give it a shot - thanks!
Do it! I've got a Cat Tail with a clean blend, but it sounds amazing fully wet going into my MBD-2. I usually run the MBD just a bit hairy/grainy, almost a tube-like edge of breakup with more lows. Then I'll dial the cat tail in pretty grindy on the highs and roll back the distortion on the lows a bit to keep some fundamental - roll off the tone filter to tame some harshness, and then put it into the MBD. It sounds huge and chunky and still defined...
