Danelectro Coral Deluxe Bass project

I’ve gotta ‘66 P-bass that I’ve stopped playing entirely because of my Coral.

Ironically, Johnk turned me on to Epiphone T-bird reissues WHILE he was working on my Coral. Blew my mind how much I loved it. Bought my son an Embassy cause those PUs are so versatile.
I also own a Sept '66 P-bass, which I love. But for me the Coral Deluxe Bass is more versatile. Kind of the opposite of most players' opinion I know, but that's just the way I feel and it sounds like you do too.

Epiphone did all Gibson T-bird fans a favor by releasing the VP IV. Closest thing to a vintage '63-'65 Gibson T-bird. :bassist: I know because I own one!

I have a 1991 Gibson Thunderbird but I am attracted to the new Epiphone 64 in sparkle purple. Does this bass sound good? The main reason I'm interested in it is because it come in purple and everybody know purple sounds the best!

I think you'd be happy with the pu's. I was pretty impressed by the Epi VP's. But if you want the most nuanced/broadest spectrum of opinions on T-birds - visit the Thunderbird Club thread. Everyone there is very helpful and within the membership own just about every year and version made, both Gibson & Epiphone.
