I also own a Sept '66 P-bass, which I love. But for me the Coral Deluxe Bass is more versatile. Kind of the opposite of most players' opinion I know, but that's just the way I feel and it sounds like you do too.I’ve gotta ‘66 P-bass that I’ve stopped playing entirely because of my Coral.
Ironically, Johnk turned me on to Epiphone T-bird reissues WHILE he was working on my Coral. Blew my mind how much I loved it. Bought my son an Embassy cause those PUs are so versatile.
Epiphone did all Gibson T-bird fans a favor by releasing the VP IV. Closest thing to a vintage '63-'65 Gibson T-bird.
I know because I own one!
