I scored this red Coral today! I need a bridge and it looks like the pick guard was replaced. Also missing the neck plate on back.

Rad! I've got the red one as well - my favorite bass to play, no doubt, but love the color too. Congrats.
Pretty positive I've got an extra pick-guard (unique in that it's 2 pieces = 1 clear sheet/1 white swirl sheet) which I'd be happy to part with it for I paid ($32) + shipping. Let me know if you're interested and we'll figure things out.

I've seen pics of a red one. And a Dane also! I'm still looking. Did that one sell recently on Reverb? The CDB looks like it needs Dano stacked knobs which are readily available. The red CDB's I've seen pics of have the lower (black) knob sprayed the same red. Original '60s bridges appear now and then on Reverb or eBay and usually for over $100. Even if just the plate, making the wood bridge is easy. How are the necks on them? My CDB was pretty straight but I had to do a lot of work on my Silvertone Hornets to get good action/playing.I had lipstick pu surrounds fabricated (the rounded version) if you'd like one for your neck pu. My CDB had its thin neck-plate but the similar Silvertone 1443 Hornets didn't have them. On mine, the lower screw is stubby and only there to hold the plate down. Only the top two screws anchor the neck. It's metal, but a plate could easily be cut from thin aluminum found in hardware stores.
I installed inset mollies, ferrules and hex-head machine bolts on this Hornet. Also added a ferrule for the tilt-neck port.
This one had the original wood screws and tilt-collar it came with so I just added spacers under the round-head screws. On these the lower screw actually anchors the neck. I've seen both versions (plate/no plate) so I'm not certain if they all had plates originally. Poplar wood - not great for a 'natural' look.

I was trying to identify the red bass in this video and of course the interwebs led me here! 
Not sure who the bass player is backing up Mavis Staples and Jeff Tweedy but sounds great and nice to hear this bass up loud in the mix.

Yes thanks to this thread I had the proper pick guard the day after I bought the bass!! If felt like a meant to be moment!
Can anybody tell me what the thickness of the Coral Wasp bass body is? I have a Coral 6-string bass neck and I'm thinking about making a body from scratch.
Tough to say exactly due to the conturing but seems to be the thickest at the neck pocket (35 mm/1.37 in)

Hey I gotta' post this recent (no affiliation) Reverb item - I absolutely love my '68 Coral Deluxe Bass which as you witnessed here on my thread I resurrected at a reasonable cost. But now knowing what a truly great bass it is - I think their asking price is not unreasonable, especially w/an OHSC AND that cool bridge cover! (mine was missing -I had one fabbed for over $100!) And their comparison to a Thunderbird is spot-on as I also own a '64 T-bird and the only difference between how hard they both rock is single-coils vs hum-buckers. My band (The Sean Conneries) drummer thinks they both are on the same level. Normally my bandmates could care less what I'm playing - so for him to offer up that critique...

I was studying the pics in that above Reverb post - and interestingly enough, it appears to be less tapered than mine! The airplane-wing taper on mine is part of what I love about it. And to address @RonSound 's question - I measured the body thickness at the lower bout and it read 29.54mm. (-ish)
Bottom line is these late '60s instruments were hand made by humans - no CNC, no cookie-cutter 'technology'... so one person sculpted a body this way, while another sculpted a body that way. A big part of why I love and gravitate to basses made in this era.
