Danelectro DC clone idea

Hello everyone, Im relatively new to TB, but Ive been prowling the LC for a few years, and finally want to take a shot at building my first guitar

I really dig those old Danelectro DC59s, and I think it would be a cool build, but with a twist. Instead of doing a masonite-poplar-masonite laminate I was thinking something more fender-esque and routing it out of an alder body blank, and instead of lipstick pickups I was thinking of a Filter'tron in the bridge and a P90 in the neck position? Or maybe use a tele ashtray bridge with a neck humbucker over an ash body and do some kind of blonde-on-black tele-dano abomination?? I have all kinds of ideas. Not really bass specific, I know, but what do you guys think? I also think the original Dano necks were a different scale, but I would really like to use a 25.5" scale length. So that would require me relocating the bridge? Would i just measure 25.5" down the neck and make my marks on the body corresponding to that to determine bridge location?

I just measured my old 59DC. It its right at 25" scale length, so it shouldn't be a problem moving the bridge back half an inch, there is plenty of room on the body.

Thanks. That definitely would work. I think I'm going to make an MDF template this weekend for the body. Do you know how thick the body is? I think the originals were a bit thicker than the 1 3/4 inch body blank i have in mind is. If it is bigger I might hollow out some chambers in the rout and put some kind of top on it.
