Wouldn't buy one of them either...
I'm not an antique collector I'm a bass player, and I like my basses to be in as new and good a condition as possible. So I don't believe in paying premium prices for something just because it's ~old~ when I can get the same or similar instrument in a newer updated format for far more reasonable cost... Hey, I'm old myself. -A human antique one might say, and other than not being dead I don't see a helluva lot more in it to recommend it!
So iffen I can get several good new basses for the price of an old worn out one, you know where I'm gonna go! Forget about all that 'vintage' mystique stuff, AFAIC it's just sentimental...

I don't collect antiques either, but an old bass does not necessarily equate to a bad bass. Do you know that the bass I posted is not a good bass?
