Not a member of this club, but wanted to let you know that this thread inspired me to go out and find a Danelectro to play (harder than it sounds, at least in Goleta/Santa Barbara). I turned up a used, pretty battered copperburst longhorn and, well, it was insanely fun to play.
Putting everything else aside -- the cartoonish looks (which I dig), the beat-up body, the relatively low price -- it was just big, big fun. Such an easy neck! And I say that as someone who's used to a short-scale Gretsch neck.
I absolutely understand why you guys/girls are hooked on these things. Now to start educating myself on Danelectros...
