DannyV's Roscoe Design

Have you seen the blacker-than-black Roscoe I ordered? It may be a little cliche for metal, but I think it's going to look wicked. :bassist:

That is going to be an interesting instrument. I personally enjoy a dark finish on the figured tops... I'm not sure exactly what a black gold finish entails, but as long as it's not solid black it should really make that quilting pop. The maple/ebony combo with the Barts and spanish cedar body should provide a very broad range of sounds too.

Speaking of black Roscoes, did anyone else catch the "Darth Roscoe" that was for sale not too long ago?

Ok, after lots of questions to Gard and Greg, here is my submission for a new Rocket Music Roscoe!

- SKB Signature 3006
- walnut top, mahogany back
([Invalid or Expired Link Removed])
- the Sig. standard wenge neck, shaved slightly thinner
- OBP-3 preamp w/ Bartolini pickups
- Diamondwood nut
- Fretted figured cocobolo fingerboard
- wood 12th-fret inlay
- black hardware
- oil finish

Was originally thinking about a fretless, but that was more what I intend to order personally. Since it's for his store, Greg suggested that we go with a fretted instrument. At least I'll sound better on it when it arrives, before some lucky person buys it!

Thanks for this opportunity, Greg! Cheers to you and Gard for putting up with the stream of questions.

It's a standard option, just not one that is called upon as often as Ash or Spanish Cedar. I'll be interested to hear it, I'm expecting it to sound like my old Alembic... with a little Roscoe special sauce applied...

Oh, I knew it was an option, just not a popular one really.

I actually really like the wood, I'm very interested in how its gonna sound on this baby, should be powerful.

Its one of the most incredible woods I've ever seen, when quilted.

WOWZA...where did that top come from. I didn't see it in your tops on order page... Are there others out there?

DannyV got wise and used [Invalid or Expired Link Removed].

Gard plans to periodically add fresh tops there for everyone's viewing pleasure. If anyone sees a top there that they would like to consider turning into a bass, contact me or your local Roscoe dealer to check availability and pricing.
