Well, they did say "Expand" at the end of the 2025 recap video so I guess this is the first piece to that puzzle I was wondering about.

Not quite. If you tap the 3 dots on the top right corner, you can then tap on "Expression Binding". From that screen you can assign pretty much any parameter and macros to it.So user error. Mine in this case. My bad.
So it's just a matter of adding the pedal block before the effect and bind it to the selected feature. Easy enough. Thank you
Does it work the same with macro's? In my SVT example above, would the macro (assuming I already have one) simply show up as something I can bind to the pedal like any other parameter on that block?
We might add a Q control down the lineVery interested to run the 'Wauwa' block against the Dunlop wah that's currently on my board. I noticed there were no parameters on screen to control the sound of the wah (i.e. Q, depth, intensity, etc.). Hoping it's not needed, but that's a common feature on most of the wah pedals I've bonded with. Either way, I'm eager to check it out tonight...
The batteries are for the LEDs only.Curious about the new expression pedal. Love the colour, but trying to understand the functionality a bit better.
Why are there two outputs, one for the Anagram and one general output? Is there something special about the Anagram output? I didn;t catch that in Ivan's video.
Also, wondering why it requires a battery, is that simply for the LED indicators, or does it not function without a battery? And if it does require power to operate, is there a 9v DC input, or are you forced to use a battery?
Thanks in advance!
Awesome, thanks Ivan! Looks like there may be one of these in my future. Also just wanted to echo what others have said in appreciation of your responsiveness and dedication to the community here. Darkglass has always had a tradition on community engagement and excellent customer service, and it is fantastic to see that this has been maintained as a core value as the company has grown. The batteries are for the LEDs only.
The Anagram Output allows for seamless linear operation.

I'm trying to understand the advantage of this pedal over just buying a Hotone Ampero II Press for more than $30 less. The Anagram Output allows for seamless linear operation? What does that mean exactly? What am I missing here? The batteries are for the LEDs only.

In the TB Anagram wiki page there are some USB-C external batteries listed that apparently will work with the Anagram.Hi, I have a question. I'm going to get an external battery for my Anagram! Which one do you recommend and what capacity? Thanks.
This is what I'd like to understand better from DG as well. Whether it's comparing the Darkglass pedal to the standard Hotone Ampero or any other expression pedal. I'm seeing them respond that it is an 'RTS' input, as distinct from 'TRS', and I cannot find any information on how the two are different.I'm trying to understand the advantage of this pedal over just buying a Hotone Ampero II Press for more than $30 less. Set aside, the RTS question and the linearity, which ampero press II is supposed to have as well. The Anagram has an additional TRS output, with 10 kOhm, whereas the ampero has a footswitch output.I'm trying to understand the advantage of this pedal over just buying a Hotone Ampero II Press for more than $30 less. Iirc, TRS is the Roland standard. RTS moves the wiper from the tip. This is what I'd like to understand better from DG as well. Thanks - that's super helpful.Iirc, TRS is the Roland standard. RTS moves the wiper from the tip.
A lot of expression pedals have dual jacks, one wired TRS and the other RTS. Usually when you see folks saying the range of the pedal is all bunched up in one spot… they’re using the wrong TRS/RTS wiring.
many expression pedals have linear taper but you can still find some with log taper.
Lastly, expression pedals have different ranges of the pot which gives more digital “steps” in the device. Some are 10k many many are 20k and some are even 100k at full sweep.
AFAIK, expression pedals are otherwise all the same. No clue what makes this one special… eager to know for sure.
Well, I guess that explains why I was having issues using the Dunlop Volume X Mini with the AnagramThanks - that's super helpful.
That sounds similar to what the TRS polarity switch does on the Dunlop Volume X Mini. I've used it as a volume/expression pedal with my MC6 MIDI controller, and had that 'bunching' of the sweep range that you described. Flipping the polarity switch fixed the problem and made the taper linear, as you'd expect it to be.
Sounds like most 3rd party TRS expression pedals will work just fine. Hoping that's the case, since I don't have any interest in buying the hotone/darkglass pedal.
FWIW, you've been able to bind 'other' parameters for a while now. The new add here is really the dedicated wah and pitch blocks. The volume is more convenient, but you can use the gain block the same way...This is a great update, especially if you can control any binding like drive level or octave blend.
FYI, I believe the DOD mini expression has a switch to change to RTS and, I know this is petty, but not a fan of the color Darkglass decided to go with. If they had matched the Anagram that would have been cool.
Then I missed it in the patch notes. Sorry about that. Not quite. If you tap the 3 dots on the top right corner, you can then tap on "Expression Binding". From that screen you can assign pretty much any parameter and macros to it.
This has been there already since before 1.12.
