Lol, how much do you want to give me for mine?I just need a better deal on your Photon.![]()
What's the lowest you'd take?Lol, how much do you want to give me for mine?![]()
$1 less than @retroXvertigo who just confided in me he’d take nothing less than a trillion dollars! Honest! What's the lowest you'd take?![]()
ok my dudes, thanks for the helpful replies. I am kind of making progress with the MVave Chocolat and Anagram. I downloaded the CubeSuite and also updated the Chocolate firmware to v12.
The Chocolate now connects to the Anagram, and the A B C D buttons do things, but I'm not sure that they are doing what I really want them to do.
I have presets: 001, 002, 003 in Bank A, and 004, 005, 006 in Bank B.
I THINK what I want to do is use the Chocolate to move between Bank A and Bank B, then use the Anagram footswitches to move between the 3 presets in each bank. Now @drpepper 's idea of having a Home button makes some sense to me, so maybe that's a thing.
Once I got the CubeSuite installed on my iPhone and got the bluetooth connection working, I was able to choose the A B C D buttons and put some of @Acebassmusic 's CC commands. I don't think I did that right because the using the A B C D buttons on the Chocolate did NOT do what I expected from Acebassmusic's directions.
In the end I was laughing at myself and the whole situation, because one of the reasons I got the Anagram was to (hopefully) simplify my gigging life my reducing the pedalboard/footswitch dance ... but honestly, this setup (Amagram and Chocolate) don't really do that at all ... instead of 3 footswitches on my original pedalboard, I've now got 7 (which I admittedly am not super clear on how to set up). Not sure this is going the way I hoped
I've sure spent some serious time on this thing now though, and it's been an eye opener for me. I'm determined to work out a way to gig with it that at least basically compares to my original pedalboard.
There are six, CC20-25 if memory serves. Is there really only 3 binding stomp options in MIDI? Would like to have the M Wave toggle 4 at a time.
What would it take to get a Pultec style EQ block added? It's kinda just the Para EQ with optimized controls, you could do it with ParaEQ but would take more time dialing it in.
The Pultec trick is nice for reigning in boom but without losing the low end.
There's 6. Look at the bindings view. You have one per knob.Just starting to try out the M Wave. Personally, I like having the foot switches closest to me to toggle effects on and off and have the Anagram foot switches further away toggle presets so I’m not constantly stepping over foot switches.

thanks so much ! this will have to wait until tomorrow now as I have a gig tonight and plan to use the Anagram as I have it set now (no MVave). There's probably a good reason it didn't work for you.......some idiot forgot to add ALL the instructions.....doh!I went back through my earlier post and realised I hadn't included the "Footswitch Mode" parts which select whether the switch is single press / long press etc. I've taken and marked up some photos along with correcting the instructions. Hopefully I have it right this time and it helps you
Just thought... I have the Chocolate Plus so I'm not sure if these instructions also work with the standard Chocolate.
I tend to use my Anagram in Stomp Mode and have my MVave setup using Cubesuite like this:
Advanced Custom Mode / Max Group Count 1 / Current Group 1
I have programmed the buttons as follows:
A - Pedal button SHORT press - selects the next bank DOWN. This shows the next bank of 3 presets on the screen. I then select using the Anagram which preset I want. Settings in Cubesuite under Pedal A are “Mode: Step Short or Step Long”, Bank A [1] 1 CC 104 127
A - Pedal button LONGPRESS - selects a specific preset located at position 1 (01A) of the presets list. Settings in Cubesuite under Pedal A are “Mode: Step Short or Step Long”, Bank B [1] 1 PC 1 0
B - Pedal button SHORT press - selects the next preset DOWN. Settings in Cubesuite are “Mode: Single Step (Single Bank Information)”, [1] 1 CC 106 127
C - Pedal button SHORT press - selects the next preset UP. Settings in Cubesuite are “Mode: Single Step (Single Bank Information)”, [1] 1 CC 105 127
D - Pedal button SHORT press - selects the next bank UP. This shows the next bank of 3 presets on the screen. I then select using the Anagram which preset I want. Settings in Cubesuite under Pedal A are “Mode: Step Short or Step Long”, Bank A [1] 1 CC 103 127
D - Pedal button LONGPRESS - selects a specific preset located at position 28 (10A) of the presets list. Settings in Cubesuite under Pedal A are “Mode: Step Short or Step Long”, Bank B [1] 1 PC 28 0

yeah, I definitely have gone through several waves of being overwhelmed with the Anagram ... all the tonal options, how to actually make a solid signal chain, how to do bindings, how to power it, how to get the MVave connected and doing anything .... so there is truth to what your saying.I might be reading things into your post that aren't the case, but it just feels like you might be in a “reeling a bit” phase. Since the m-vave came in a package deal, you didn’t actually choose it or really have to or get to live with the Anagram first and discover what (if anything) you actually wanted to change. That can make the m-vave a solution in search of a problem...not ideal IMO.
A lot of the utility here really depends on individual workflow and especially which mode you’re using. What makes total sense in one mode may not translate at all to another. You can see from the replies that people can prioritize very different things with the Anagram. Once you’re thinking in one particular way, it’s easy for other approaches to seem to have no value even though they make perfect sense in a different use case. In my case, I don't come from individual pedals and don’t need to make changes mid-song (something that hadn't even occurred to me as an important use factor because I simply don't do it)...I have some main and song specific sounds, so preset mode fits my workflow and how my brain works.
As for how I landed on the functions I use, I was moving over from a Zoom B2 Four, which has next/previous preset buttons, so I was used to scrolling through presets. Finding I had access to 3 presets then had to change banks, I first thought that’s what I wanted add to the Anagram. After more time and thought, I realized banks with access to 3 presets at a time actually feels more direct and the friction in it for me was two-button bank changes with a foot, and scrolling would actually have little or no value. So that was the first aspect where the m-vave had clear utility. The dedicated “Home” button is pretty big for me (sometimes I just press it to feel safe haha)...someone whose use doesn't involve "a main sound" might scratch their head. Same with the general idea of having dedicated buttons for frequently used functions and navigation instead of two-button and second function long-presses (tuner), not that there's a big problem there, it just reduces the chance of a mispress.
I have to say, I had zero midi experience going in and it was frustrating and not a fun morning until a couple of “aha” moments. After that, it clicked and felt simple. But there was definitely a hump.
If I were you and I was advising myself, I’d say either...
- put the m-vave aside for now and just use the Anagram until you naturally run into things you wish worked differently, then see if midi offers a solution.
- pick some basic functions that apply to the mode you’re using and treat it as a learning exercise, knowing you can always reassign things later.
Right now you might be juggling a few too many variables at once. There’s no rule that says you have to squeeze value out of the controller right away (or ever).
Have they officially announced anything? I couldn't find a dev kit or API or anything online so I don't know how anyone would develop anything for it or load it on the Anagram to test it.How has the third-party response been to developing for the Anagram at the NAMM booth and elsewhere?
Tepid? cold? warm? hot? supernova?
I believe there is a process available, @IvanBassist can probably point you in the right direction as soon as he’s out of the gym, today is big toe bench pressesHave they officially announced anything? If they ever open it up, I've got a couple ideas I'd like to try.

@IvanBassist or anyone else who may have a solution.
Playing in a metal trio and looking to split my signal with an octave up on one chain that can mimick a distorted guitar sound and a mostly clean full range bass tone on the other chain then combine them when the rhythm guitar drops out. Can I do this with just an Anagram?
Thanks. I found a starting point.Yes you can, basically a scene and you’re toggling some split and merge settings. But there are a few way to do it.
Definitely doable if you toggle the split to a scene.@IvanBassist or anyone else who may have a solution.
