Darkglass Anagram Multi FX Announced

In theory if you have the Cioks 4 you can power it off the USB c port on that.

DC7 seems overkill on a nano for this.
I was curious more from a board real estate standpoint. But speaking of the USB port on that, does that port push enough current? I saw the Anagram can be bus powered, but it needs a "power delivery" type USB port. Is the USB on the Cioks 4 considered that?

This is what I'm considering for powering the Anagram via 4x500mA ports + a Shure Glxd16+ on a Rockboard duo.

Not gonna watch a half hour video.
Is there a list printed of what blocks it has?
I see it has XLR output, that’s terrific
Only other two complaints about the helix…
Is there some kind of on screen level monitoring, to help set gain and compression?
Can you easily get to useful synth bass sounds?
seems the answers to my questions are no, no, no.

They did finally put out a block list - although without descriptions - Anagram Manual – Darkglass Electronics
In this block list, there is no synth block. So you can try to get synth-y sounds by combining filter, chorus, drive,... but there is no easy way.

USB audio is not working yet. Apparently it will come pretty soon.
Ok, thank you! I assumed that it would work already. Another question, should there be something in factory presets in Darkglass Suite?

The DC7 fits underneath the board :)

And I found some good Sansamp NAMs :p
Hmmm. Never considered that. That option makes the Anagram more appealing to me.

My board is Cali76 -> B7K (sometimes on) -> BDDI (always on).

I'm being asked to do stuff that requires more pedals (octave, chorus, phase), but I've been resisting it due to not wanting a bigger board while I consider the HX Stomp as an option.

Am I the only to be surprised by the small number of amps available in version 1.1?
If you exclude the NAM loader, we've got only 3 amps
In fairness, how many bass amps make it into a studio recording chain? How many stage amps are mic'd and part of FOH?

The Anagram seems to have the typical "character" amps (Ampeg, Orange, Fender, etc,) covered.

Today I had my first gig with the Darkglass Anagram. I used it standalone in combination with IEM via XLR direct to FOH.

It worked all fine, had a great sound and got compliments from my band members. It was a bit of challenge to finetune the output level of the unit to our mixing station and get a similar level as my analogue pedal board, but everything went fine.

I used one preset in stomp mode to switch my parallel path with distortion on/off, room reverb on/off and vintage overdrive on/off

My signal chain is inspired by:
Used a combination of two cabs and added a parallel low pass / high pass path (similar to my Tyler deluxe on my analogue board)

One improvement point - for which I am not sure if it is already possible - would be a possibility to lock a specific preset during a gig and to prevent switching to another preset. One way or another I managed - in stomp mode - to switch to another preset with a much lower volume. Took me one song to find out the cause.

Long story short: I am really happy with the Anagram. It is my first multifx (next to Zoom B3N I only use at home) and it easily can replace my analogue pedalboard with quite complex routing. It is small, powerful and very versatile.

3 switches is very limiting.
I found some great Sansamp NAMs, also Big Muff, Brassmaster and the DCX from the user last page.
The Brassmaster is a big +, works like a charm.

And what is the difference between Preamps and Amps?
Preamps

  • Harmonic Booster
  • Leo Bass (Fender Bassman
  • Jim Bass (Marshall whatever
  • Gentle (Noble
Amps

  • Peggy Bass (Ampeg
  • Super California (Mesa Boogie
  • Kallinen Kruukkeri (GK

Mine arrived.

basically it needs to replace the mini-board that i use (below the Anagram), I'm not asking too much beside that and that it takes less space and simplified the whole fiddling process

Sometime I switch the filter pedal by an octaver so the Anagram should give me that flexibility.

Hope I can get is ready soon so I can sell the pedal to finance it (cause this one hurt and was NOT a purchase I had planned in the household budget)

I'm in the same boat man - purchased and need to sell my board (that I've only just finished) to cover it. Hence the DCX captures! Would love to keep that but then would need to keep the board and power supply too of course.

The family plan got cancelled so I could played a bit with mine, maybe the pet peeve first : you can't turn it off? So have to unplug the cable? brrrr...

Everything works well, the tracking is very good, I was impressed by the pitch shifting effect.

The Octavers work well but I found the envelop filter underwhelming and this is a bit of a disappointment as I really like a cool filter sound for funk/disco. I'll have to dig more and maybe can still make them work.

So seems I'll still have to carry a stomp a side (which means a power adapater etc etc...
