I like the sound of this pedal, but all the clips I have heard are pretty much a scooped metal tone. Does the pedal have an inherently scooped sound?

Darkglass B3K Question

Bass Boy, the pedal is designed to have a frequency response as flat as possible! It has a slight scoop though (as no distortion has a perfectly flat response) But the slight scoop effect is due to the fact that the circuit boosts the low end and the hi mids (2.8kHz) This in order to provide a fat, aggressive and defined tone... which is exactly the tone I wanted for myself

No distortion is completely flat (all though the Microtubes was designed to remain fairly flat on the mids, or at least way flatter that many other pedals in this category, in order to let the different bass' natural character shine through the pedal) Also the fact that all the demos out there are using Jazz Basses, in very "punchy" amp settings adds up to very aggressive sounding samples.
Hopefully other users will comment on this matter in order to help you figure out if it is or not what you might want

You're very welcome! Yeah we should make clips with other basses, I'll keep it in mind, thanks for the suggestion!
The Grunt switch control the amount of low end going to the main clipping stage (CMOS). This interacts with the Drive knob, so that you can control, how much low end dirt (AKA fuzzyness) you want... it also allows for adding clarity in hotter scenarios, since this pedal has a ton of bass, at full gain, you might want to cut some low end if you don't want the whole room to rumble.
The frequency controls on the B7K are: 100Hz, 1kHz, 2,8kHz and 5kHz. (Low, Mids, Hi-Mids and Treble).
