Darkglass Electronics Tone Capsule Preamp

Just wondering when you roll off the high mids, are you still left with the very high frequencies? Or it cuts everything 2.8 and above?
IME it behaves like a shelving control and rolls off everything 2.8 and above which is why I like adding a passive tone to use with the high mid. As an example, this is a recent upgrade I had done.

I was wondering since my bass (Spector) has a 4-knob layout what would happen if i only connect the bass and hi mids pot to the pcb and don’t connect anything to the low mids leaving it open. Has anyone tried that?
You can use a stacked pot. Email Darkglass tech support. They can send you a link to a plug and play pot. Or you can order the preamp from Spector which has an internal trim.pot for the low mids.

Thanks but for aesthetic reasons (and it may sound silly) I‘d like to avoid a stacked pot and I found out that I don’t use the low mids bit enjoy the bass and hi mids.
But I’ll contact Darkglass.

I just took delivery of a bass with an 18V DGTC installed. Getting intermittent, high-pitched whizzing noise from it. I will have to investigate a bit more, since the interference could be external, but if it's not - what could be causing it? It's like a tinnitus kind of sound.

Hi guys, I know this is an old thread but I just got a tone capsule installed in my Dingwall and it's really fun so far. Having owned a B7k for years it's exactly what I thought it would be in a good way.

My favorite things about this preamp so far with the little I've played it

The bass frequency not being ridiculously low, I'm looking at you emg at 30hz

How usable the cut is on 500 hz atleast with my setup, I don't usually have a use for active cut controls but this one rules.

I like the hi mids instead of treble bc it feels fairly usable in extreme settings without that 10k/steel string like boost happening.

One thing I will note is it seems really loud compaired to my original preamp which was some emg circuit but that's not a bad thing for my preference. Series mode is perfect with this thing on board!
