Darkglass Microtubes Infinity...doesn't work?

I bought a used "mint" Darkglass Microtubes Infinity off Reverb. It arrived yesterday. I had also ordered a new Dunlop 9v center neg power supply for it. I plug in the power, I plug in a bass, I plug in some headphones...and it won't even turn on. No lights, no sound, no nothing. I double check everything. I try adding a USB cable to my computer, but nothing.

Am I overlooking something? What's the odds that it's the brand new power adapter?

Sounds fine, but I would try another power supply before giving up on the Darkglass.

Edit: Or try the power supply on a different pedal to test it.

I remember my infinity requiring me to firmly seat the barrel connector as it's slightly recessed in the case.

So maybe just wiggle 'er a bit?

Double check that it is not in bypass mode by pressing the left and middle footwswitches. That and the headphone volume being turned all the way down could look like it's dead.

All good suggestions, thanks! I have now double checked and reseated all connections. I tried the two switches at the same time for bypass mode. No luck. The only thing left to do is try a different power supply on it, and/or this power supply on a different pedal. Which I would do immediately, but I have nothing suitable here. I was this close to grabbing a tuner pedal from rehearsal space last night...but then I realized the Darkglass has a tuner so I don't need it! Ay Caramba.

uhm, got a multimeter? you can eliminate the dead PSU with measuring its' output.

Some power supplies have plugs (the plastic portion) that are too fat to insert all the way in, or the there can be a misalignment of the receptacle in the device. Look it over closely.

I agree with this and would add that there are a couple of different dimensions to be concerned with. First is the outside 'barrel' size which is probably correct. Also the pin size which if the pedal pin is smaller than the PS plug bore there will be no contact hence an open circuit. Worth taking a closer look. I have observed discrepancies with routers and other equipment that seemingly have the same size plug but do not match exactly.

Testing the PS open circuit with a DVOM won't tell you much. It will probably read high with no load but if defective will drop to zero or under spec with a device load.

Am I missing something here? The pedal takes a center negative connection, and the power supply is tip negative. Are they the same, just different descriptions or do you have the wrong power supply?

It's from the Amazon page where I ordered it. But it wasn't sold by some rando. The seller is D'Addario.

Although usually tip-negative usually refers to a TRS plug:

Yes. What is amiss is my COVID-addled brain. I mentally swapped one brand for another. It's a D'Addario accessory sold by them.

By the way, I have a One Spot on my big board. I have thought about upgrading it many times, but the truth is it's worked like a charm for years. Problem in this case is my board is somewhere where I am not. At least until next Tuesday.
