I’m still sorely tempted by one. I wish the black one had a black headstock, and I keep thinking that I already have a DG Alpha Omicron pedal, and I just need a Stingray of some sort to have the same tonal capabilities already…but there’s something tempting about a bass you could hail to a buddy’s house, and just plug in with the AO tones on tap with no extra equipment.

It’s probably a good thing I don’t have the disposable cash to hit this up now, anyway.

Surprised this thread hasn't seen activity since September.

My stone gray darkray arrived the other week and I am digging it. Really was unfamiliar with Darkglass prior to this. I had watched the video demos but the genres being shown just didn't do anything for me but now that I have this bass in my hands the alpha/omega drives sound awesome.

Not sure which is alpha and which is omega but I am favoring the red.

So the onboard Alpha Omega preamp actually sounds good with this bass? The demos sound great, but you just can't tell until you hear something in person and in your own hands.

I just got a Stingray 5 Special and I've really struggled to get a good sound out of my AO Ultra with that bass. It makes me curious how similar/different the DarkRay preamp is to the regular StingRay preamp.

I think they sound great.
