Oh, how's the balance, I assume it dives some, being a 'bird, but then, I assume it ain't bad, since its also a Roscoe! :D

Not that balance has ever bothered me, just curious, hahaha.

Thanks, guys, I love that tune!

The bass does indeed dive a bit. But for me, my right forearm rests comfortably on the upper horn, and that keeps it balanced. I don't think it would be a bother on a gig.

Of greater concern to me would be access to the first fret. It definitely feels a bit further away than on the other Roscoe models. I can reach it comfortably, but I'm 5' 11". Fair warning to any of you "height challenged" bassists :)

Ah, the reach is another thing that I would be ok with, I'm about 6'2" maybe a little taller, and if needs be, I'd hang it a little lower, and tip the neck up a little straighter.

I assume the lack of an upper horn is pusing the whole neck an extra inch or two left?

Yep, that's it. It feels just about 2" further away, I'm sure because of the lack of an upper horn.

Its one of those things that just goes with the teritory, I have an explorer, I pieced together myself from bits and pieces, exact same deal.



I'm still in awe about how incredibly this bass came out, both in appearence, and tone.

Meh... neck dive has never been an issue for me personally. I'm sure I've owned a bass or two that did it, but it's never bothered me. My left hand is always on the bass, so it's a non-issue for me. Plus I use good straps, and that helps a lot.

Some folks are hyper sensitive about it, and some folks aren't. So I would tend not to make blanket statements like that about such a personal choice thing, but that's just me. I'll certainly mention it upfront as an issue, but I wouldn't refuse an order because of it :)
