Darryl Jones - Bring on the Night

Oh yeah, great playing by Jones here. Still a fan.

I was also wondering about that all blue bass. See here.
Beside this and the white 66 Jazz he used a Steinberger (see video above).

Because of Miles: he was the really hard manager. The risk was Stings career - nobody knows if the people/fans will like this new music.
This band was full of great (jazz) musicians which only a few people had known before. So Sting was the only big name in 1985.

Afterwards, I do recall seeing Jones with a blue Guild Pilot bass.
Later...there were A Basses...then the Laklands?
What does he play with The Stones?

Ahh, a bambino perhaps, but one with great taste in instruments and inspiration.

Gotta admit: Darryl does a pretty good Sinatra. Check out the rehearsal dinner scene where he belts out Frank's rendition of Cole Porter's "Night and Day."

As a young kid when this came out, I loved this movie and I learned about the musicians in Sting's "new band". I went on to follow these guys further on in their careers...It led me to get in to jazz as a teenager as an adult. Thanks Sting!

I don't remember if he used it with Sting, but he definitely used one with Steps Ahead.

I saw that tour in '92. Fantastic lineup. Also saw him a couple years ago with Josh Freese. Definitely a different vibe, but still awesome to watch.

Seems like I recall that the Steinberger Sting played in the police belonged to Andy. He may have let Sting have it?

What version should one seek? I have vhs and dvd and youtube. And... a couple bucks to enjoy a noteworthy rocumentary.

The movie version of "I Burn For You" is not the same as one on the the 2-cd set.
