Finally made some time to do something on this one again.

Routed level the neck and routed the truss rod grooves.

The headstock end of these grooves will be finished further on the milling machine at work.

Decided to go for a little bit different approach from my previous builds, the groove ends on this neck will have no covers.

Glued on the fingerboard and sawed of the excess wood at the sides (flush with the rough neck).

Milled the fingerboard to headstock transition, also made the groove for the nut.

Removed most of the unneeded wood and drilled the holes for the tuners.

Q&D mounted all the tuners to get a feel of how the neck will balance... and just to see how it will look.

In case you were wondering, it looks epic. That headstock design suits that many tuners really nicely.

Thanks, it took me a while and several variations to get it right, but it was well worth the effort.

Done some more doodling around with the tuners, most of the time I prefer to position them at an angle, this is roughly how I'm going to mount them.

Cut the fret slots. Went like a breeze after the previous snakewood one.

This is how I always do it, without any complicated jigs or machines. Just a piece of wood with a straight edge, clamped a fraction next to the printed line, carefully press the saw with two fingers against this straight edge and start sawing.
