Double Bass De-Gloss

I've found plenty of posts on how to de-gloss the finish on my bass. What I have not found is what effects it might have on the tone.

I really dig the way this thing is sounding (for a 1/2 ccb) and that is way more important than the way it looks. But, I would prefer not to have the shiny finish. Can anyone give me an idea of the probable tone change if I take it down to a satin finish? Might that "round' down the leading edge of the attack or "open up" the upper mids, or have some other effect causing a reduction in clarity or definition?

Attached is a sample of the current tone.

Thanks,
Steve
