Dead fret on Bass

Is there anything that can be done about a dead spot on my bass. It's a 4 string its on the D strong on the B fret..Really drops out when playing....Thanks

First, make sure it isn't instantly getting zapp'd by a high fret (or maybe it's the low fret of the bunch). Second, if it wasn't bad fretwork... well... that sucks. There are some remedies, search them up around here, and see if it helps any.

just did the G string untwist on my Peavey and presto! everything is perfect again in bass world
