Dead G string on a Squier CV

I own a Squier Precision Classic Vibe which sounds great except for the G strings, which has a much lower volume and less "projection". Do you think it is a matter of a faulty pickup or faulty string? The strings are brand new Daddario.

Thank you for your help.

Assuming this is your first bass , try setting it up according to the fender website specs, see if that changes anything.

Also , consider the possibility of dead spots. Fender basses are notorious for having dead spots on the G string.
