Dealbreaker or reparable?

Some mean ass rodents got to that.

You'd have to put a new bottom in the cab and not worth it at that price. I've seen folks cut the amp section out and use the amp as a head by itself. Sell the speakers or repurpose, but if I had to guess I'd say that took some water damage and the casters fell through. Who knows what shape or damage the head may have taken. I'd pass unless under $100 and you'd have to get rid of the carcass after you've stripped it down.

offer him 15$ or 25$ if he tells you the whole story

Might be worth that if the story is worthy of retelling here on TB ;)

At under $100, you are likely to lose it all, sounds like you are a gambler ;)

That's a STORE asking that price? Oh lord jesus. They should be paying YOU to take it off their hands.

As people have mentioned, based on the damage, it either suffered flooding or a HUGE hit/dragging or both or even worse. So the speakers may or may not be salvageable and the amp may or may not be salvageable.

Fake edit: If you look at the picture of the front, you can see it's got "mud" about halfway up the grille. So yes, this is a flood victim, didn't Ohio have some major flooding in the last couple years? Probably from that.

So speakers are almost certainly toast although could maybe be reconed (but they're cheap combo speakers so that will probably cost close to what new ones would be from Fender). Amp might be ok if it didn't get wet. I might see if you can plug the head into a different cab and see if it works. If it did it MIGHT be worth $50-100, but you'll need to come up with some kind of shell for it. Then you have to dispose of the carcass and speakers. Crossover network might be ok depending on where it's mounted inside. Horn may also be ok.

That $219 price is shameful. Here's the same model in "great" condition for $249 (plus shipping and tax, but still):

So as a project that may or may not be redeemable, frankly MGR should take whatever someone offers and be thrilled. Someone probably pulled it out of a dumpster anyway and/or there was probably already an insurance pay out on it. I wouldn't feel guilty getting it for $20 or even free.

Music Go Round is a franchise based store chain. Each store with individual ownership.

These entrepreneurial types aren’t always too savvy it seems, when it comes to managing incoming trade in inventory.

This POS would never have been taken in for trade at any store I owned.

I feel sorry for the owner of the store as he’s likely gonna take a complete loss on this one. Better luck next time dude.
