So do the cobalts have an aggressive bite like say pro steels or Rotosound or are they smoother in tone like DR high beams or similar?

Yes, they have more bite than those two.So do the cobalts have an aggressive bite like say pro steels or Rotosound or are they smoother in tone like DR high beams or similar?
I'll probably like those on that or on my Warwick streamer. I'm going to try them first probably. If it doesn't work on 1 it'll probably be great on the other. The Dean and the streamer have a similar vibe because of the pickup spacing. The Dean has a little more roundness in tone than the Warwick but it's also the pickups. EMG on Dean and MEC on the Streamer. I really appreciate the input.Yes, they have more bite than those two.
I’ve been interested in the 4 string as well as some of the DBZ basses. My foray into 5 stringers is over as I just can’t seem to master them and really don’t play anything that needs to go lower than E. Of course I can’t say that’ll never happen so I still have the handful of fivers I do have.Wow, I would have never thought that Dean's private label basses would be so difficult to sell. Especially for those who are used to the DEAN string spacing on 5's. For now, I'm still in the club. View attachment 5478637
Someone's going to want it. It's a good looking bass. Reminds me of the Ibanez ergo something or other that got popular some years back. Dean standard 16.5mm at the bridge. It's literally the only reason I'm selling it because of the string spacing. Otherwise it would be here forever. I am looking for a 4 string version.Someone's going to want it. It's a good looking bass. Reminds me of the Ibanez ergo something or other that got popular some years back. See I like the 16.5. it's the same as Warwick and Ibanez. Probably why I felt right at home on my Edge 5 string.Dean standard 16.5mm at the bridge. It's literally the only reason I'm selling it because of the string spacing. Otherwise it would be here forever. I am looking for a 4 string version.

Just wow! That’s string spacing for a tax who makes a 13.5mm bridge and pickups, other than Dean.

Light weight, very beautyful, playable very good.
But: The sound is quite good, but lack of bass. He came with EMG HZ and an old EMG active BTC (I assume not the original electronics).
First I swapped the HZ to EMG 40DC / 40CS, the same thing: poor bass.
Now I changed the old BTC to an actual BTS - and yippiee!
Very good sound, reminds me something of my Spector Rebob.
Which series is it? In the moment I don‘t have the serial number, will supply later.
Great bass for little money!
Edit: May be I‘ll change the tuners to light weight due to some neck diving.
