Decision Help

Oye!

Alright so my 91' Jazz, well, let's say it broke. I've been looking for a while now to move on to something different. I've been thinking musicman, but I don't have enough for that. I spotted the SX Ursa 2 Hum (Link Removed) on SX's website last night. I've been listening to a lot of oldish RHCP (One Hot Minute) and 70s funk stuff and noticed a lot of those songs have a distinct musicman sound.

What I'm asking, is do you think the SX Ursa 2 Hum will give me more of that tone, or should I get an SX Jazz instead?

I don't really care for how it's played, I just want to know which will give me the more accurate slap/finger picking 70s tone.

Thanks!

Well, if you don't like the entire bass, then the SX will get you closer. You might even consider a Sterling SB14 or a Ray34.

If you like the bass but don't like the lack of bridge humbucker, then installing a humbucker in the bridge spot will probably be cheaper and you can get a great-sounding 'bucker in there.

Alrighty. I was also thinking of throwing an Audere preamp in there to get the best tones possible.
